Culture at Mairehau

Mairehau is lucky to have passionate leaders who encourage and challenge our students to be involved in cultural groups and challenges. These include kapa haka, Ngā Mana Kōrero, Polyfest (at the start of each year), Pasefika Language class (held off-site) and more.

Mairehau High School has a growing Kapa Haka group. They have helped to introduce the Mairehau High School haka to students, staff and our wider community.

We celebrate the range of cultures represented at our school on international day where we have a dance, sing and sample food from around the world.

To get involved in a cultural group talk to Matua Matiu, Whaea Satriani or your Wa Whānau teachers for more information.

Don't see your culture represented in a group? Why not ask for help and start one, what this looks like is up to you!
