Uniform

Student are expected to wear full, correct school uniform to and from school. Wearing the Mairehau High School uniform correctly shows respect for your school.

Juniors

Year 9 & 10

  • Regulation skirt or culottes or kilt at regulation length (worn below the knee) or Regulation black trousers, shorts or lavalava.
  • Regulation fitted maroon polo shirt or white blouse (long or short sleeve) with MHS monogram.
  • Regulation black V-neck plain jersey or vest with MHS monogram or Regulation black V-neck plain cardigan with MHS monogram.
  • Plain black lace up school shoes or plain black trainers (no boots, high tops, canvas slip ons, no coloured trims or logos) or black Roman sandals in Summer (no socks with sandals).
  • Plain black socks, knee high or calf length (no sock liners) or Black tights/pantyhose (not leggings).

Seniors

Year 11, 12 & 13

  • Regulation skirt or culottes or kilt at regulation length (worn below the knee) or Regulation black trousers, shorts or lavalava.
  • White fitted blouse (long and short sleeve) with MHS monogram or plain short or long sleeved white shirt.
  • Regulation black V-neck plain jersey or vest with MHS monogram, or Regulation black V-neck plain cardigan with MHS monogram.
  • Plain black lace up school shoes or plain black trainers (no boots, high tops, canvas slip ons, no coloured trims or logos) or black Roman sandals in Summer (no socks with sandals).
  • Plain black socks, knee high or calf length (no sock liners) or Black tights/pantyhose (not leggings).
  • OPTIONAL: Regulation school blazer with maroon tie.

Additional Optional Items For All Students

  • Regulation school winter scarf or plain black winter scarf.
  • Black cap or black woollen hat or MHS monogram beanie/black cap. **
  • Plain black wind/rainproof jacket or puffer jacket (no logos or decorative trim) or MHS monogram black jacket. **

Cultural headdress/scarves plain black, maroon or white.

Students are able to wear cultural taonga and pounamu.

Physical Education

  • Black tee shirt (MHS monogram or plain) or Waka logo tee shirt
  • Black shorts or cycle pants and/or Black track pants
  • Sports shoes (non marking)
Uniforms for team sports are provided on a loan system.
