The recent events in our school calendar have showcased our students'
incredible talent and highlighted our school community's solid cultural connections and diversity.
Year 9 Day: A Warm Welcome to New Students
A significant event in our school calendar was the Year 9 Pōwhiri (welcome) Day, which occurred earlier in the year. This engaging Māori ceremony served as a warm welcome to all new students and teachers, providing them with a sense of belonging and inclusion within the Mairehau High School whānau (family). Through traditional rituals and heartfelt speeches, the Pōwhiri reinforced the values of respect, diversity, and cultural pride central to our school ethos.

Their influence extends across various domains, from fostering a positive school environment to advocating for student needs and concerns. Therefore, with great pleasure, we congratulate Hemi Edmonds, Alex Prior, Haymesh Francis, Liam Coburn (Head Boy), Belle Jackson, Arti Arti, Alyssa Petzer (Head Girl), Jessica Singh, Debra Li and Aesha Martin on their appointment as Mairehau High School Student Leaders.
