Smokefree Rock Quest
On Saturday May 27, several of our students entered in the Smoke free Rockquest where they had to perform their own original songs. All their performances were excellent and congratulations to Moeka Ishizawa, Rachel Nolan, Ella Peoples, Tammy Reynard, Rachel Wilson, Maddy Bouma and Darrell Suaesi Faamau.
Darrell stepped in to help a group from Haeata when their bass player was injured and the group, Proud Brown, won the Pasifika Beats section and also made it into the Regional Finals. Great news, Darrell.
On the 19th of May 25 of our students headed off to Horncastle Arena to participate in 2017’s Stage Challenge.
We came away with two highly sought after awards. Excellence in choreography, and Excellence in set design and function. This was amazing as all of our choreographers were new to the role, and our set was made in less than a week! A special congratulations goes to the leaders – Jakob Callender, Katlin Burnip, Sebastian Anae-Ah Sue, and Xavier Milesi, with support from Breathney Carruth, Emily Teague, Ashlee Clark-Nevard, and Bella Berry.
A huge congratulations goes out to all who were involved. You did an amazing job! Next year we will be focusing on our major school production, but 2019 will see us back at Stage Challenge. Can’t wait!
